March Madness

Women of Vision is busy with their own version of March Madness. Newly approved 2017 projects are already underway in planning and in WOV typical fashion, "Getting It Done."

Butler Kitchen - Before
One example of a project already completed is the kitchen in Butler. This space is used not only by the Enrollment Management Team, but also by prospective students and their families who visit campus. The staff requested an updated kitchen that would be more warm and welcoming.

Butler Kitchen - After

Beverly Adams, Project Coordinator, performed her magic using components from a donated kitchen. I think you'll agree the results are amazing! Staff and students are thrilled with the results.

Future blog posts will feature other 2017 projects underway. Here is a list of  projects.
  • Operation Inasmuch and SPOTS funding
  •  Renovation of two student lounges on the 1st and 3rd floors of the Science Building
  • Global Education House porch replacement and office renovations
  •  Henderson Hall- furniture for classrooms 218 and 221.
  •  Henderson Hall - Smart classroom 318 and water fountain replacement
  •  Heritage dorm renovations (desk area, kitchen, courtyard)
  •  Mossy Creek Bridge funding
  •  Warren Art Building flooring
  •  Fite Building refurbishing of lobby, hall, and stairwells

Kitchen Shower for WOV Projects

We are hosting a shower for our campus kitchen improvements during the Gathering on Saturday, April 8. Please bring any new or gently used kitchen items to the collection table upon arrival. Anything you can offer will be greatly appreciated and is tax deductible.

2017 Gathering of Friends - April 8

Plan to join Women of Vision for this annual meeting. We will share a delicious meal, be inspired by speaker Jenny Bushkell, celebrate the accomplishments of 2016, and learn about the projects of 2017.

Jenny Bushkell

Our speaker for this year's Gathering of Friends is Jenny Bushkell.  Jenny is the Christian talk radio host of “Let’s Talk Recovery” where she shares stories of hope and restoration with thousands each Friday afternoon. She is also the Co-Host of the “Bob Bell Show” on Joy620 WRJZ, where fun and faith come together. In addition, she is a speaker and Bible teacher. Above all, she is passionate about her faith in Jesus Christ. Known for her joy in Jesus, humor, and transparency, she encourages others to find confidence in their identity in Jesus and to find God’s plan and purpose for their lives.

Jenny has served primarily in Recovery ministries, Women’s ministry, and Youth & Children’s ministry for the past sixteen years. She has a BS in Logistics from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Jenny left a highly successful career in sales to follow God’s calling on her life, and she has never looked back. She is married to Lawrence Bushkell, MD of Knoxville Dermatology Group, and together they have served on foreign mission and lay ministry teams. Her pastimes include traveling with Larry, photography, and writing.

You won't want to miss hearing Jenny speak.  There is no cost to attend.  Please RSVP by March 31 to Leah Smith (865) 471-4164 or click here.  Bring a friend. It will be a fun day for all.  Make your reservation today!

Together, we can accomplish much for Carson-Newman and for
His Kingdom. We hope you will partner with us.
